Spatolato
When the tool speaks, we speak of Spatolato.
Used in the creation of architectural ornaments or to imitate marble, this rendering, with its delicate nuances and particular veining, is born from ground white marble, then sprayed amalgamated with lime and chalk.
On a foundation of stucco impregnated with a basic colour, the spatula travels diagonally, centimetre by centimetre, time after time, to produce the spatolato effect across the whole surface.
The process is repeated several times with different shades until you get the final result... Its harmony will depend on the range of colours chosen and on the skilled hands guiding the spatula.
